Memories

On June 30, 2001 at 10:03 AM, I became a mommy for the very first time. Zion Malachi came into the world 7 years ago , weighing 6 lbs. and 3 0z. I was so proud.
And now, 7 years later, I'm still so proud of my little boy. He's turning into such a smart and handsome little man. Before I know it, he'll be driving and then getting married....ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday, Zion! I love you!

--------------

Zion's birthday always falls in the middle of vacation, making it hard to have a party for him. So this year we decided to postpone his party a couple of weeks. He'll be celebrating his party on July 12th (which happens to be Trevor's birthday) and the 2 of them are having a pool party. I will be sure to update my blog and fill you all in on that interresting party when the day arrives.
Until then...

Vacation Part 3...The Zoo

Tuesday we went to the Palm Beach Zoo. It was HOT....just thinking about how hot it was that day makes me sweat. Anyway....I'll spare you all the animal pictures, and just bore you with the family pics instead.

The whole family! Riah looks so cool...

Trying to measure up to the bears....

Inside an eagles nest....or at least a model of one. Those are some seriously big birds.

I have to throw in this picture because i just love flamingos. They are some of the coolest birds that God created. I could just watch them all day. Such grace...such beauty..anyway..moving on...

The last picture we have of Riah right before he got eaten.....just kidding...

Tuesday night was a graduation for one of the homeschoolers from Bro Jack's church. Trevor was asked to speak a little at that celebration. It went very well.

Trevor and Caleb.

We left Florida on Wednesday moring and flew into Charlotte. What I didn't know until we landed was that our layover was 3 HOURS!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!! What in the world were we gonna do to entertain 3 kids for 3 hours in an airport. Thank the Lord the Charlotte airport is huge. And our departing gate was on the oposite end of our arriving gate. So we took our time wandering from one end to the other, got some lunch, enjoyed the sites of the airport and bought a couple t-shirts. The kids enjoyed themselves and found out how entertaining kids meal toys can be.

Vacation Part 2....Wannado City

Wannado City...Where kids get to do what they wanna do and the parents get to watch. This place was a blast. I've never seen anything like it. Parents get in free, because there is nothing for the parents to do besides watch their kids have fun.

Its an inside miniature city. There is a bank, post office, fire department, police department, detective office, candy shop, bakery, and lots more...you name it, they probably have it. The kids get to work at the stores/shoppes/offices and make money to spend on candy, cookies and rides. What better way to spend the day. Which is what we did all day on Monday.

Zion got to rock climb. He didn't make it all the way to the top tho, cause he got scared. But he still did pretty good.

The boys got to be firefighters and ride on a firetruck and actually put out a pretend fire with real water. There was a building on fire (fire looking lights and smoke) and they had to put out the fire with a real hose . That was really cool.

The kids joined the circus for a little while as well. Trevor even got to join in the show. What are the chances that he would get picked from the audience to volunteer. He had to balance all those plates on sticks. When it was over, he took a bow, dropped all the plates, and "broke one"...(it was already broken when he dropped it) and as punishment he had to dance. LOL!!! I laughed so hard...poor Trevor, he was SO humiliated. He's lucky I forgot to video it or else you all would have been highly entertained.

There wasn't much for a 2 year old to do, and thankfully because of that, Glorianna got in free. There was one small area with toddler toys, and that is where Glorianna wanted to stay. So me and Trevor took turns hanging out there with her and running around with the boys.

For lunch, there a food court and a small "pizza parlor". For $5.50 the kids got a drink and a pizza....and they got to make their own pizza. I thought it was well worth the price and as you can see the pizza's were good size. They didn't eat them all. All 3 kids got to eat these pizza's for lunch and supper. So it was worth the money for sure. It was cheaper for the kids to do this then it was for Trevor and I to eat ready made food. Typical.

After spending pretty much all day at Wannado City (which happened to be connected to the Sawgrass Mall) we all went into the mall so us ladies could do some shopping. That was fun as well, but by the end of the day we were all wiped out.

Thus ends Part 2...Stay tuned for part 3...

Our Vacation...Part One...The Preaching Part

Well, we're back from a week's vacation in Florida. At least I think it was a vacation. Might actually be considered time away from home, but not so relaxing, vacation. Why?? Because it was actually a preaching vacation. Which means that we go to 3 services in which Trevor preaches at all 3, thus leaving me with the kids again. Oh well.

Roughly done schedule as follows...
Thursday, June 5th...our plane leaves Louisville at 6:30 AM (which means we got up around 3:30 and had to be at the airport around 5ish...yuck...the kids all stayed in their pjs until we reached Florida, because it was soo early, and I didn't want to have to deal with clothes in the morning.) Fly into Washington DC where we have a 1 hour lay-over...not too bad...that gave us time to get some food. The kids loved riding on the airplane as you can tell from the pictures.

We arrived in Florida at around noon. Bro. Jack picked us up and we headed back to his house where we would be staying for the week.

We tried to relax a bit and get everyone ready for the service that night at 7. The church Trevor was going to be speaking at was an hour and a half away. We made it tho and the kids did fine and Trevor preached a great little sermon on backsliding. (I'll let him fill in the details on his blog).

Friday morning was "guy time". All the guys met at a park where they kayaked and grilled out and fellowshipped. They were supposed to be back to the house by noonish but ended up staying all day. Meaning they were gone from about 630 AM to about 530 PM. What did i do?? I watched the kids again. =)

When Trevor finally did get back , we took the kids to the beach. They had been wanting to see it and since we didn't have a service that night , we figured that was the only night we could do it. The beach was beautiful. The boys built a sand tower where they could store water. The waves kept taking it out tho. Why is it that they always build the sand castles right next to the water and then get upset when the waves take them out??

Saturday morning...um...what did we do Saturday morn? Oh yes...I remember...We went to Target to get the kids some toys. Bro. Jack's kids are all teenagers, so there wasn't much at his house for them to do. Since the airport wanted 25 dollars each way for the one extra bag we would have taken with toys it in, we decided it was cheaper to just skip the extra bag a buy the kids a few toys to play with down there. So that's what we did. I was also introduced a Carmel Frapachino from Starbucks. Very addicting. It became my sanity saver. =)
Saturday night we had another service. This one was at Bro. Jack's church tho, so it was only about 20 mins away. Trevor preached again. Another great sermon. The kids all fell asleep so I actually got to enjoy the service this time. YIPEE!!!
Sunday Morning was another service in which Trevor preached again. Kids didn't sleep but were very well behaved , so I was able to enjoy this one as well.
After church Bro. Jack took us out to eat at a really cool Caribbean style restaurant. I had never eaten that kind of food before, so i wasn't sure what to order. Trevor explained what each item on the menu was and I just picked one. I scored....It was awesome!!! I cant remember the name of it but it was very good. And HUGE!!! The amount of food that they bring you is enough to last you 2 full meals. I ate the leftovers for supper that night. YUMMY!!
Sunday evening, there was no service, so we just sat around the house and fellowshipped. Bro Jack has a nice pool, so the boys had a ball swimming while we were there.
(end of part one...part two to soon follow)...
